EXTRAVAGANT WORSHIP (part1d)

June 22, 2007

CHAPTER 05:   ELEGANT DREAMS

Psalm 145:18-19
18 The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.
to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;     he also hears their cry and saves them.

Worshiping God causes our deepest desire to come to pass.

Psalm 37:4
4 Delight yourself in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

As long as we delight ourselves in the Lord (the heart of a worshiper) He will be faithful to His promise. The Word says

Isaiah 30:18

The LORD Will Be Gracious
18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you,     and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.  For the LORD is a God of justice;     blessed are all those who wait for him.
God longs to show you’re his grace and compassion.
Desire is such a powerful force in our lives and it is planted in our heart by God to cause us to follow after our dreams. Desire directs our lives and propels us toward our God-give destiny,

Ephesians 1:11-12

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
Do you know what you were to do? Have you given definition to that desire that is within you? Have you allowed that desire to breathe- to find the life it needs in order to be realized?
Many people struggle with knowing what it is they were born to so and sometimes thy make it too complicated. God doesn’t make our “calling” hard, we do!
Ask yourself these things:
  • What am I gifted at?
  • What do I love to do?
  • Does this desire live up with the Word of God?
  • Can I see it for my life?
  • With the purpose of my desire build the kingdom of God?

God is the ultimate dream-giver and dream- fulfiller. He planted His dream within you to get up in the morning. He planted it so that you would go over mountains and through valleys. The enemy is a dream stealer and many people feel like some of their dream has been stolen. To live without a dream is to live without a future.

Proverbs 29:18
18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint,[a]
but blessed is he who keeps the law.

God wants to restore your dream.

I. A DREAM BIRTHED

(Part of “my” dream is that I will have a major part in changing not only the face but also the heart of every worshiper in very church on the planet. My dream is that God’s army of worshipers will no longer struggle with the call of God on their lives but stilt sand in His purpose.)
Using our God-given gifts for His kingdom’s purposes wouldn’t leave us empty. We should use our life to exalt the name of Christ and to take people to the awesome love of God.
God is the ultimate “dream fulfiller”, but we all has a definite “part” to play. We have to make good choices along the way.
The greatest thing we can have in life, apart from Jesus and apart from our family, is our worship team, and local church family.  The church family that God places in us is a divine appointment.

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
There are so many different styles and methods of worship, and all glorify God as long as there is a heart connection between the worshiper and the Lord. When you worship you have to give your all.

II. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU START

To see your dream come true, it doesn’t matter where you start. Look at the life of David; he didn’t have a big illustrious start. Look at the life of Moses: he stuttered and said, “I ccccaaaant.” He didn’t have a great stat. if we look at our lives, did it start remarkable? What does matter is that you allow the Holy Spirit to stir up that dream within you so that you can finish your race well.
  1. 1.    Trust God’s Timing

You can have a dream, and you might be the most faithful person on the planet, but you may still wonder why you are not seeing your dream come to pass. Time is the greatest proving grounds for a dream. That can be a hard lesson to learn, because you’ve been hanging in there, you’ve been serving and now you’re asking. “When is this dream going to come true?”
Don’t stop being so faithful in what you are doing. GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT. If it is God’s dream, it obviously needs time as the perfecting ingredient. God’ people, the church, are a magnificent people.  Extravagant worshipers are shaking the planet! That’s why he enemy hates worshipers. He hates us. We’re not afraid of him; we are full of faith for the future and full of faith for what God is doing through people like you.
Time don’t do tell the “sowing in tears” and then leave early. Hand out, for your reaping will be in joy!
  1. 2.    Our God is Able

God enables your “unableness”. If you say, “I am unable to fulfill my dream” then God says “Awesome!” because He is
Ephesians 3:20
20 … able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,
That is what God saying to you about your dream today.

Judges 6:11-14

The Call of Gideon
11 Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor.” 13 And Gideon said to him, “Please, sir,[a] if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.” 14 And the LORD[b] turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?”

  •  Have  you felt like Gideon?
  • Have  you ever felt abandoned in your dreams?

This is what God saying to you today” Go-  Am I not sending you? Do you not believe in me? Have you not read my Word? Do you not know that power I hold in my hand? Do you not know that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you? Do you not know that I am sending you?

Judges 6:15
15 And he said to him, “Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.”
( do his excuses sound like yours sometimes?)

Judges 6:16-18
16 And the LORD said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.” 17 And he said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, then show me a sign that it is you who speak with me.18 Please do not depart from here until I come to you and bring out my present and set it before you.” And he said, “I will stay till you return.”

Most people put their dream on the shelf because they’re too scared and too focused on their own inabilities. But God says, Go in the strength you have- am I not sending you?” If God has placed the dream in you and God has placed the “call” on you, has He not equipped sending you? He has put that call on your life. He has equipped you! God is sending you! He has put that call on your life. He has given you the gifts to fulfill that call, and that is what you are going to do.

Don’t let your dream, “die” because you think you can’t achieve it. Let your dream be brought to the surface again. I pray that whatever has veiled your dream, whatever has locked it up within you, that you allow him Holy Spirit to breathe on that seed in your heart so that the brilliance of the dream within has the opportunity to shine.

AM I NOT SENDING YOU?
